Chiranjeevi made grand launch of Praja Rajyam Party in 2008. He fought 2009 elections against strong winds of Congress led by then CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy and TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu. Mega star managed to win 18 seats with his Rail Engine symbol. However, he merged Praja Rajyam Party with Congress soon.
Chiranjeevi was given Tourism Minister post. He later served as Rajya Sabha MP. Chiru made grand reentry to silver screen with Khaidi No. 150. He is currently busy with Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and has been away from politics. He is not actively participating any of congress meetings and campaigns besides several invitations from AICC president Rahul Gandhi. Chiranjeevi is deliberately distancing himself from congress party, feel political analysts.
Reportedly, his membership with the party comes to end soon and he is not renewing it. Apparently, he is set to say good bye to Congress very soon. Chances are high that Chiranjeevi joins his brother Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena party. Mega fans have been pursuading brothers to join hands and waiting for the moment. It has to be seen if Chiru takes a call and campaigns for Janasena for upcoming elections.
