CM Chandrababu Naidu is rooting for grand alliance with Congress in Andhra Pradesh as well. As known, TDP has formed alliance with Congress in Telangana for upcoming elections. Ever since, TDP withdrew support to BJP led NDA Government, the regional party has been getting closer to Congress.
Naidu had discussed with AICC president Rahul Gandhi on forming alliance to defeat BJP. Dalit group of congress are keen to join alliance with TDP. Community leaders feel that it is necessary to form alliance with TDP to bring back Dalit vote bank which is now with YS Jagan’s YSRCP. Congress incharge Oomen Chandy too agreed with the proposal.
However, PCC chief Raghuveera Reddy is averse to the idea of supporting TDP. On the other hand, some TDP leaders are unhappy with Naidu’s decision to form alliance with Congress. They recollect that NTR was dead against to Congress and that he had established TDP to uproot the national party.
TDP supremo also met Mayawati to seek her support to the grand alliance. On the other day, Mayawati denied appointment to Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan who visited Lucknow.
