Income Tax department raided residences of Telangana Congress working president A Revanth Reddy on Thursday.
High tension situation prevailed at Revanth Reddy’s house in Jubilee Hills near Peddamma temple since morning. News of cops planning to arrest Revant created panic among his followers and party workers. Revant Reddy is facing allegations over irregularities committed by office-bearers of a Co-operative Housing Society in 2004.
In 2015, the former MLA was caught by Anti-Corruption Bureau while allegedly paying a bribe of Rs. 50 lakh to Elvis Stephenson, a nominated MLA, for supporting TDP nominee Vem Narendar Reddy in Legislative Council elections.
Congress leaders condemned the raids and accused that TRS government is indulging in vendetta politics.
