Paper Boy Full Movie Review and Rating

Paper Boy Story:

Ravi (Santosh Shoban) is a student who turns a paperboy for survival. He happens to fall in love with Dharani(Priya Rai), a rich girl. Dharani likes his honesty and reciprocates to his love. She even convinces her parents for marriage. Ego clashes crop up between them due to difference in their statuses. How the young couple sort out their issues and reunite forms the rest of the story.

Paper Boy Review:

Paper Boy is routine romantic entertainer made on rich – poor divide. The film starts on impressive note promising something different.

However, it fails to keep up the promise. First half is classy with decent romantic moments. Though predictable it is appealing and engaging. Second half goes haywire with unnecessary sub-plots and back stories that are not convincing.

From pre-climax the film gets tiresome beating around the bush. Heavy sentiment further burdens proceedings rather than invoking emotions. Poor climax top ups the disappointment.

Santosh Shoban makes an impact with his subtle performance as Paper Boy. He is expressive and is good at emoting. Priya Rai is impressive too. Bittiri Sathi and Vidyulekha are hilarious. Tanya Hope shines in supporting role.

Cinematography stands out as the film is given a stylish feel good ambience with brilliant camera work. Background score is good but songs are just average. Narration could have been crispt and more engagingly presented.

Bottom-line: Paper Boy – Rehashed romance
