Reviews:

Mehbooba is a love story set on communal backdrop. It’s a reincarnation story just like Magadheera. The young couple are separated due to war between Inda – Pakistan in 1971. First half is quite intriguing with some exciting moments.

Puri Jagannadh trademark dialogues create an impact. Reincarnation angle is revealed as interval bang. Second half is emotionally charged with some hard hitting dialogues mouthed by Akash on communal front and brotherhood of India – Pakistan.  The film appears tad too lengthy. Story appears to be beating around the bush after a while. Climax is not upto the mark.

Performances

Akash Puri shines in this lackluster script. He delivers intense performance and dialogue diction just like any seasoned actor. Neha Shetty is decent and gives a promising performance.

However, she looks elder to Akash and hence the chemistry didn’t workout. Murali Sharma is good as the heroine’s father. Vishnu Reddy is impressive as villain.

 Technically:

Mehbooba is well made in terms of technicalities. War scenes are filmed decently in limited budget. Cinematography needs special mention. Action episodes are good. BGM by Sandeep Chowta is fine but the songs are boring.

Puri Jagannadh has come up with something different from his regular template but there many hiccups and loopholes in the script that it is not too focused to hit bull’s eye.

Bottom-line : Mehbooba is only for Akash
