Political war between TDP and YSRCP intensified with the attack on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Ruling party and the opposition leaders are accusing each other of hatching a conspiracy to gain political mileage.
Jagan sustained an arm injury as a youth named J Srinivas Rao attacked him with a cockfight knife at Vizag airport VIP lounge. Srinivas worked as a waiter at a restaurant in the airport. He approached Jagan on pretext of taking a selfie. YSRCP alleged TDP of murder attempt on their chief.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu referred to the incident as political stunt by Jagan at a press conference. CM mentioning Operation Garuda raised many eyebrows. As was reported, actor Sivaji foretold that opposition leader would be attacked to destabilize government as a part of Operation Garuda. Sivaji explained in a video that BJP has conspired riots in the state to dismiss government and implement president rule.
Naidu reminded that airport security is responsibility of CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) but not police department that it can be controlled by the state government. Naidu suspected Center’s conspiracy in the whole incident. He announced that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be set up to probe the incident.
