Story:

An asteroid hits Vizag and causes furore among public. Indian Space Research Organization discovers that another massive asteroid is set to hit South India causing devastation to large extent. It may even wipe out few cities from the map. Space agency selects Vasu(Jayam Ravi), a magician and team of strange guys to carry out a mission to explode or divert the path of the asteroid so that it will not hit earth. Tik Tik Tik is a space adventure that has to be experienced on big screen.

Review:

Tik Tik Tik touted to be a space adventure film first of its kind on Indian screen. The film lives upto the claims with decent thrilling moments. Tik Tik Tik cannot be compared to Hollywood space flicks which are made on huge budgets.

Within its limited budget Tik Tik Tik is well made space saga that gives audience out of the world experience that is never experienced on Indian screen. Nevertheless, Tik Tik Tik appears to have shades of Now You See Me and Interstellar but still it has its own different theme. The film has got heavy VFX.

It has got gripping screenplay backed by convincing performances. Logical loopholes go unnoticed in the racy pace of the movie. The film doesn’t disappoint the other section either as it has got mass and commercial elements as well. It also has got pinch of emotion and sentiment. It has been packaged well with topping of patriotism.

Action episodes in second half are not upto the mark and appear tad bit lengthy. Unwanted comedy scenes and not so emotional drama scenes hinder the flow of the movie and are irksome.

Performances:

Jayam Ravi nails it with his seasoned performance. He balanced the heroic act at the same without disturbing the novelty in the story. Nivetha Pethuraj is decent as Indian army officer. Jayam Ravi’s son, Aarav makes surprise debut.

Technically:

Director Shakti Soundar Rajan deserves a pat for his daring attempt and efforts in making a space thriller understandable to common audience. Music by D.Imman compliments the thrilling feel. Sound effects are perfect. Cinematography is brilliant. CGI work is clean for most of the time.

Bottom-line: Tik Tik Tik – indigenous space thriller
