Tholi Prema Review:
Tholiprema is a feel good romantic entertainer. Its about love journey that begins in teenage and continues as the pair get wise. Nevertheless, the story is told many times, interesting narration with beautifully beaded episodes makes the film breezy. The first half is thoroughly entertaining and will definitely appeal to the youth.
The proposal episode in railway station is breezy and college fun provides good entertainment. Raashi Khanna’s bold characterisation is the USP for the film. Conflict of characters between lead pair is convincing. Second half is set in London. Hyper Aadi entertains with his punch dialogues. Some touching emotional confession scenes between lead pair. Despite some lags towards climax, Tholiprema is a decent watch on a whole. Nice dialogues on caste discrimination to convince Naresh as his daughter loves Priyadarshi and wants to marry him.
Varun Tej comes up with matured performance. Mass angle of hero elevated with couple of decent fights. But it is Raashi Khanna who steals the show with her terrific performance and dialogues by her are note worthy. Vidyu Raman, Priyadarshi and Hyper Aadi are entertaining in their roles. Actor Naresh is seen as an NRI with caste feeling. Veteran actress Suhasini plays the role of Varun’s mother.
The film has got well written dialogues. Direction needs pat keeping feel intact with entertainment. Venky Atluri has long way to go. But there is some lag towards climax. Background music by SS Thaman is an asset for the film and all the songs are shot beautifully. Cinematography by George C Williams is top notch.
Bottom-Line: Tholiprema lives upto the title. The film is feel good romantic entertainer. Story is woven on lead pair characterization and conflict of their ideologies. Tholiprema is romantic journey that audience too travel with and enjoy.
