Sharwanand is disappointed with failure of much anticipated film ‘Padi Padi Leche Manasu’. The young hero is teaming up Samantha Akkineni for his next movie. It would be remake of Tamil cult romantic hit ’96’. Sharwa will be reprising the role of Vijay Sethupathi.
Samantha will be seen in Trisha’s role of Jaanu which has been brought her incredible acclaim after Jessie. Initially, Sam was reluctant to accept the offer as Harish Shankar was supposed to direct it. Reportedly, she adviced that such a cute love story needs a sensible director. C Prem Kumar who directed the original will be helming the remake as well.
After trying to cast Allu Arjun and Gopichand, Dil Raju finally zeroed in on Sharwanand for the lead role. Sam and Sharwa make an interesting pair indeed. The film will be bankrolled by Sri Venkateswara Creations. It is going to be 34th production of the banner which is cashing in on stupendous success of F2 – Fun and Frustration. 96 remake will go on floors from March.
