Sailaja Reddy Alludu Review:
Sailaja Reddy Alludu is a family drama stuffed heavily with commercial ingredients. Ego clashes of the characters is the basic plot that has been developed into a story. First half establishes Murali Sharma’s character as a egomaniac and his optimistic son Chay. And then there is Anu, headstrong rich girl.
How hero tames her and gets into his track is showcased. Perhaps, he has to deal with mother of egoism i.e. Sailaja Reddy that he gets know as an interval bang. Ramya Krishna’s role as a powerful woman, a feminist who doesn’t tolerant injustice to women in her region making men bow to her.
She easily slips into an adamant ‘Attha’ character with her gracious appearance and arrogant bodylanguage. Second half is more entertaining with comedy. A fight sequence reminisces Nagarjuna’s hit song ‘Priyaragale’ from Hello Brother will evoke some whistles. Comedy by Vennela Kishore tickle here and there, not hilarious though. Maruthi disappoints as he couldn’t provide the comedy expected of him. Neither the emotional part nor the sentimental drama works out.
Making wise Sailaja Reddy Alludu is rich and flamboyant. Songs are lavish and colorful. Gopi Sundar’s peppy tunes are foottapping. Nizar Shafi’s cinematography compliments the commercial premise. Maruthi magic is somewhere missing. Dialogues are not that witty and fail to trigger the intended comedy. The film ends up another Babu Bangaram which is made for the sake of it.
Naga Chaitanya has evolved as an actor. He has improved a lot on comedy timing. He tries an out and out mass characterization with his mannerisms and dialogue delivery. Anu Emmanuel is pretty and fits the bill as stubborn girl. Ramya Krishna in titular role makes it a heavy weight to the film with her screen presence and raging performance. However, it doesn’t get any closer to Shivagami image notches higher. Murali Sharma is decent. Vennela Kishore and Prudhvi’s comedy disappoints and is main drawback of the film. Naresh as henpecked hubby remains a statue.
Bottom-line: Sailaja Reddy Alludu is a letdown as its neither entertaining nor is emotionally engaging. Its an egoistic entertainer with mass masala.
