Opposition parties are holding Bharath Bandh today in protest against rising fuel prices.
BJP led Central government is held responsible for rising fuel prices. Congress alleged that NDA government is hiking excise duty inspite of decline in international crude oil prices.
21 opposition parties are supporting nationwide bandh besides several trade unions. In Delhi, protests are spearheaded by Congress chief Rahul Gandhi.
Schools and colleges are closed in several states including Karnataka and Gujarat.
CPI, CPM parties held demonstration against rising fuel prices in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. Congress staged protes in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana. Pawan Kalyan who took break from his Porata Yatra due to his eye surgery has been relaxing with his family for a while.
But due to pressure from his communist allies the Jana Sena Chief has to extend support to Bharat Bandh. His party leaders will be participating in Bharat Bandh in AP. It has to be seen if Pawan will also take part in the protest.
