Pandemkodi 2 Review:

Pandemkodi 2 is Telugu dubbed version of Sandakozhi 2. The film is no match to the first part. Pandemkodi 2 is made on wafer thin storyline. The film is overloaded with mass masala but lacks the intended power and emotional content. Neither is it entertaining like the first part. Romantic track between Vishal and Keerthy Suresh is loosely knit that it doesn’t appeal as it did in the Pandemkodi.

Meera Jasmine’s bubbly role helped Pandemkodi to become a hit. Keerthy Suresh’s role also is designed with effervescence but her chemistry with Vishal is not well etched. The film becomes redundant over a time that it involves Balu tackling Pechi’s gang in spoiling their attempts to kill the young man. Too many unnecessary action episodes makes it  a weary watch. Scenes hardly have got any impact. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s character is the only sale point of the film. Vishal and Varalaxmi’s confrontation scenes are good.

Vishal and Rajkiran are good as protectors of village. They are often compared with lions and made to appear and behave so. Keerthy Suresh delivers what is expected of her in the limited scope. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar steals the show with her arrogant screen presence and mass menacing performance.

Stunts are well choreographed. Some dialogues are interestingly written. Cinematography is good. Background score and songs are average. Pandemkodi was a musical hit. Unfortunately, not a song from the sequel are being heard. Linguswamy could have taken more care of script to deliver befitting sequel to the original.

Bottom-line: Pandemkodi 2 – Struggling cock

Cast: Vishal, Keerthy Suresh, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Rajkiran

Director: Linguswamy
