Mohan Babu has been conferred with the title ‘Viswa Nata Sarvabhouma’ by TSR’s Kakatiya Kalaparishad on completion of his 42 years in film industry. Mohan has been honored with doctorate by MGR University in Chennai last year. The multi-faceted actor has been serving as educationalist and philanthropist.
Mohan Babu has acted in over 500+ movies over a span of four decades and produced several blockbuster movies under his banner, Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures. Currently, he is busy with his upcoming movie ‘Gayathri’ which is also being produced by him. The former Rajya Sabha MP established Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust, which houses over 20,000 students under all the branches of education, starting from KG to PG.
Vidyanikethan is considered one of the prestigious institutions in India providing world class equipment and facilities to the students and shaping them into future global leaders. Vidyanikethan provides free education for 25% students who belong to the economically poor backgrounds.
Earlier, Mohan Babu was awarded an honorary doctorate from University of California, Berkeley for his contribution to the field of cinema and education. He was awarded ‘Padma Shri’, India’s 4th highest civilian award in 2007.
In 2016, Mohan Babu was felicitated in British Parliament by senior politicians and prominent Indian community leaders in an event organized by Asian Lite, a prominent newspaper for the Indian community in Britain. He was honored with Pranam Award and his dialogue book has been launched on the occasion.
