Satyam(Nithin) is a happy-go-lucky youngster from the old city. Twist in his life comes in the form of Megha Akash. Satyam lands in USA for her. On the other hand, Indian police are in search of Padmanabham (Arjun), a international terrorist in disguise of a magician, he’s settled in the US.Satyam happens to encounter with Padmanabham. The mind game that follows and the challenge between their intelligence forms the crux of LIE.
LIE is stylish action thriller with intelligent script. Hanu Raghavapudi handled it with grace. However, the film has quite a few flaws. The film has got interesting twists and thrills. Lack of entertainment is big let down. Some songs and forced scenes interrupt the pace of narration and spoil the excitement. Romantic track between lead pair doesn’t impress.
First half is slow with some silly scenes. Pace picks up from interval. Some well written dialogues with reference to Mythological characters creates curiosity. Arjun’s role is the main highlight of the film. The seasoned actor excels in the authored backed role. Nithiin’s stubbled look and attire reminds is appearance from Heart-attack. He delivers a decent performance.
Megha Akash gives freshness and eye-candy feel to the film. The film also lacks emotional quotient. Director goes way-ward after a point. Climax is too simple. LIE is technically well made. Cinematography is top-notch with different attempt at angles. Manisharma gives youthful music. Background score is another asset of the movie. The film may appeal to multiplex audience but B & C audience may find it bit confusing.
Nithiin & Arjun performance
Bottom-line: LIE between love and enemity
