Critic Reviews for The Boxtrolls
Cast: Prashanth, Manikanta, Prasanna, Ashwini
Director : Sivasri
Producers : Dr. Vijay Prasad Malla
Music: Vikas Kurimella
Shiva (Manikanta) and Sandhya (Ashwini) are young couple who keep quarreling for petty reasons. During their romantic days they gift each other mobile phones that are used only for their personal banter. They throw away the phones following a heated argument.
The phones are found by another pair Neelu(Prasanna) and Karthi(Prashanth). The same phones that parted first pair bring together second pair. Romance blossoms between Neelu and Karthi. Will Ashwini and Shiva realize and reunite?
The idea taken is quite new. The story is about misuse of technology and its effect on human relations. The films starts off on good note. Screenplay is okay in bits and pieces. However, the treatment and execution of the film is not upto the mark.
Director Shivasri impresses with writing but needs to improve on translate it to screen. The film lacks cinematic experience. Technically poor and production values are low. Scenes are not appealing and misplaced songs hinder the narration.
Screenplay goes awry from pre-climax and the makers appeared to have winded up it in hurry. Cinematography is average. Music is sick. Crisp editing by Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao saves the grace.
Ashwini and Prasanna are okay being new comers. Manikanta and Prashant leave an impact. Senior actor Suman is decent as heroine’s father.
Bottom-line: Mobile relationship
