Critic Reviews for The Boxtrolls

Chalo featuring Naga Shaurya and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, has released on Friday. This film is directed by Venky Kudumula and produced by Naga Shaurya’s home banner Ira Creations. Here is the review.
Cast: Naga Shaurya, Rashmika, Mandanna, Naresh.
Director: Venku Kudumula
Music: Mahati Swara Sagar
Banner: Ira Creations
Chalo Story:
Hari (Naga Shaurya) likes to brawl right from his childhood and his father (Naresh) too encourages him. However, after growing up, worried dad sends Hari to Tirupuram for further studies. Coincidentally, the place is burning with clashes between Telugus and Tamil community. Hari falls in love with Karthika (Rashmika). What happens next and how Hari wins Karthika’s love forms the plot.
Chalo Review:
The plot of the film is quite routine and thin. The first half is hilarious and entertainment content keeps the film engaging. Director Venky who is Trivikram’s protege, did pen decent punch dialogues. We can say it is no logic just for fun. The second half is bit dull comparative. ‘Vennela’ Kishore comedy episodes coming as saving grace.
Performances:
Hero Naga Shaurya is seen completely different in the movie. We can witness a lot of change in terms of performance, body language and dialogue delivery. Heroine Rashmika Mandanna makes a good debut. Her role is filled with comedy and outshines. Actors Naresh and Vennela Kishore are adequate in their roles.
Technically:
The production values are top notch. Being Naga Shaurya’s home banner, the producers did not compromise on the quality and it is evident in the visuals. Cinematography needs special mention here and music by Mani Sharma’s son Mahati Swara Sagar is okay in party. Two songs are catchy while the rest sound like regular stuff.
Bottom-line: Chalo is nice weekend entertainer
