Abhimanyudu is all about enduring risk of personal data exposure in this internet age. Army officer (Vishal) is a short tempered guy. He discovers that a high-end hacker (Arjun) is stealing data of public and cashing in by misusing it. How Vishal battles against Arjun and exposes his evil motives forms the crux of the story.
Abhimanyudu is a slick action thriller with intriguing screenplay. The concept is quite contemporary with all that hullabaloo of digital india. Though it starts of on slower note, gradually the film turns gripping and engrossing. Villain’s characterization seems to be inspired from Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg as charged in Cambridge Analytica. The film is pepped with entertaining elements like comedy, romance and mass moments. The pros and cons of relying too much on gadgets is well explained with detailing of security breaches.
Performances: Vishal and Arjun have given tug of war performances. Samantha adds glamour and romantic mood to the otherwise edge-of-the-seat thriller. Her chemistry with Vishal is cool. Robo Shankar, Kavithalaya Krishnan and others tickle with their funny antics.
Technical: Abhimanyudu is made on lavish production values. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s background score makes the film racy. George C Williams cinematography and visual effects gives the film a Hollywood like feel. There are some brilliant action sequences. Quite a few dialogues are impressive.
